Wax removal

What can you expect from your first wax removal appointment?

Upon arrival, a friendly member of our front of house team will welcome you into the clinic whilst you wait for your clinician who will then lead you into one of our consulting rooms. We understand that your first-time having earwax removal may be a little daunting and you may feel slightly apprehensive, but our team are here to reassure and comfort you during every step of your journey.

The first step of your wax removal appointment will involve your clinician asking a series of questions to gather information about your medical and ear history so that we can piece together the puzzle of your ear experiences and how they affect you in everyday life.

After this, your clinician will look into your ears using an otoscope with a light on the end which helps us to see the ear drum and any wax inside of the ear canal.

Once you are happy and comfortable your clinician will start to remove any earwax you may have, they will talk you through the process, answer any questions you may have and take breaks if you need them.

Once the earwax has been removed, they will use the otoscope again to check your ear canals and check your ear drum is no longer obstructed by earwax. At this point they are also assessing the overall health of your ears and will offer advice on how to keep your ears healthy and recommend how often you should have microsuction.
