Earwax Management

Wax Removal (Micro-suction)

Micro-suction is a quick effective way of removing an excessive build up of wax in your ear. Your audiologist is constantly visualising every piece of earwax they are removing to ensure that your ears are cleared safely and effectively. This advanced technique can only be carried out by qualified health care professionals so we decided to enlist the help of our ENT Consultants who supervised our training in this method. We have received independent university accreditation to verify our competency in this type of removal.

Wax Removal (Irrigation)

Irrigation is another way of removing an excessive build up of wax out of the ears. It involves introducing a warm, smooth flow of water into your ear that gently flushes out the wax. This can only be carried out by a qualified healthcare professional. We have received independent university accreditation to verify our competency in this type of removal.

Wax removal (Manual)

Manual removal of wax is carried out by using small tools to scoop and lift out your ear wax. It keeps the ear dry and is a quick effective way of removing wax that is not too far down the ear. This can only be carried out by qualified healthcare professional. We have received independent university accreditation to verify our competency in this type of removal.

Otoscopy

Otoscopy is a visual examination of the ear canal and eardrum carried out by your audiologist. Your audiologist will use a small torch like piece of equipment to check on the health of your ear.

Video Otoscopy

Video Otoscopy allows both you and your audiologist to see down inside your ear. An image is projected onto a monitor so that you can see in real time exactly what is happening within your ear canal.
