World Hearing Day - 3rd March 2020
Please join us at our event which will be held at
Main Reception, The Alexandra Hospital, Mill Lane, Cheadle, SK8 2PX - Call 0800 852 7171 for further details.
World Hearing Day is held on the 3rd March every year in order to raise awareness about ways in which we can prevent hearing loss and to promote hearing and ear care across the world. Each year the World Health Organisation decides on a theme and this year the theme is ‘Hearing for life: Don’t let hearing loss limit you’. The World Health Organisation aim to highlight the importance of early and effective intervention to ensure that people with hearing loss can achieve their full potential.
The key messages for World Hearing Day 2020 are:
At all ages and stages of life, communication and good hearing health connect us to each other.
For those with hearing loss, appropriate and timely intervention can facilitate access to communication, education and employment.
Early intervention should be made available through health systems.
Globally, there is a lack of access to interventions, such as hearing aids.
Here at Hearing Matters we wanted to acknowledge and support the World Health Organisation in its endeavour to raise awareness about hearing health and hearing loss. Therefore, we are hosting an event on 3rd March 2020 between 9am and 5pm at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle. The event will be held in the main reception of the hospital and provides a great opportunity to speak to our Audiologists, who can answer any questions you may have about;
Hearing aids/accessories etc.
There will also be the opportunity to have your ears checked by our Audiologists using a video otoscope and to have a complimentary hearing screen, with advice provided on the results. We hope to see you on the day!
